The Summer of 2011 was the last chance I got to spend time at the family’s longtime cottage on Lake Winnisquam in the Lakes Region of NH. The place was sold before last summer, things change. Anyway, in May 2011, I had a chance to do a pretty complete FM recording session of what could be received up there. Enjoy the IDs from Augusta, Bangor, Concord-Lakes Region, Lebanon-Claremont, Manchester, Portland-Lewiston, Portsmouth, and Rutland.
If you haven’t heard about the stunting that’s been happening on 96.9 WTKK this week here in Boston, then you probably don’t follow radio too closely. WTKK had been talk since 1999, but gave it up this week for a yet to be determined new format. So far there have been three stunt formats, Urban “Power,” Dance “Nova,” and Variety Hits “Mike FM.” Included in this update are IDs from each of the stunt formats, as well as the last ID from the talk format. 101.7 also changed to dance late last month, and I have IDs for that both with the old WHBA calls, and the new WEDX. Besides these, enjoy several others from here in Boston.
I can hardly believe it myself, but I finally sorted out the audio from my May 2011 trip to the Dayton Hamvention. From there at the destination, I recorded many IDs from Cincinnati and Dayton. From along the road to Dayton, in order of places passed through along the way, I present IDs from New London, Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury, New York, Trenton, Philadelphia, Harrisburg-Lancaster-York, Baltimore, Hagerstown MD-Chambersburg PA, Cumberland, Bedford PA, Pittsburgh, Wheeling, Cambridge OH, and Columbus. Enjoy!
I’m still slowing going through tons of audio from a couple other areas, but this week, I have some local Boston IDs ready to go. Included are 1200 WXKS as talk and after it’s change to comedy, the new 850 ESPN WEEI, and one of the last IDs before 1410 WMSX in Brockton went off the air with it’s “Power” religious format. Unfortunately I missed anything recently from 1460 WXBR in Perseus recordings I have. Both of these Brockton AM stations are currently dark, not sure when they will return.
Well I haven’t been around to do a post on a Saturday lately, so figured I’d just post when I get a chance, which is tonight. It’s been a very eventful last month in Boston radio, and things have not changed for the better, in my opinion. Enjoy several IDs from before and after the change from alternative WFNX to variety hits The Harbor. Also, from last month, the change from classic hits WODS to CHR AMP Radio. As a bonus, from New York, I have an ID from WRKS in New York, during their period of a partial simulcast with WBLS before changing to ESPN Radio.
Thanks to friend of the site Nick Langan, tonight we have a good variety of IDs, all received from New Jersey. We have locals from Atlantic City, Monmouth-Ocean, New York, Philadelphia, and Trenton. Then there’s stations received via tropo from Charlottesville, Greensboro-Winston Salem, Greenville-New Bern, Harrisburg-York-Lancaster, Richmond, Roanoke-Lynchburg, Salisbury-Ocean City, State College, and Washington, DC. Finally there’s E Skip reception from Fargo ND-Moorhead MN, Fort Myers, Lincoln NE, Rolla-Cuba MO, and Wichita Falls. Enjoy!
