America’s Finest IDs

February 20, 2009 By Brian Leave a Comment

You know, if a city can provide the world with Jewel, the McDonald’s guy and Winnie Cooper, then it seems like it might just have earned it’s “America’s Finest City” nickname.

So long as you can forgive them for Regis Philbin, that is.

Enjoy tonight’s IDs from San Diego, thanks to Garrett Wollman.

The Myth Of Escapism

February 14, 2009 By Brian Leave a Comment

So, I’ve been on the road for the last couple weekends for various things, and one of the positives was that I’d be away from the cold of home.

Not far enough, apparently: today, it was sunny and 32 at home. Here at the parental units, it snowed several inches.

Since this attempt to escape was a complete and utter failure, let’s try it in a more virtual way: off to Los Angeles today, thanks to Garrett Wollman.

If You Seek IDs…

Laptop repaired? Check.

Backup restored? Check.

Topical Britney Spears pun in the title? Check.

Tonight, the rich, creamy goodness of Houston. Thanks to FOT Justin Truehitt.

This Editor Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties…

January 9, 2009 By Brian Leave a Comment

…please stand by.

Nothing says “the holidays are over, let’s get back to normal” like a massive computer failure. Earlier this week, my laptop threw its hard drive — only to find out it wasn’t a hard drive failure as much as it was a combo platter of hard drive and motherboard failure, and this was a problem since I really needed it for work and advance in my games, although for this I get help from services as Elitist Gaming.

Luckily, I had just completed a backup, but it’s one of those backups that’s cut up and spread over multiple DVDs, and it’s too cumbersome a process to restore more than once. So with that in mind, I won’t be posting those Houston IDs I promised tonight, but rather later in the week when I’m back up to full speed. Also big thanks to https://www.salesforce.com/products/platform/best-practices/application-development-framework/ for helping me get the site back up to speed.(I’m told the gent from Dell should be here Tuesday to fix my poor ‘puter. )

Thanks for bearing with me.

It’s Like A Whole ‘Nuther Country

December 26, 2008 By Brian Leave a Comment

It’s long been my position that, with the United States being the most transient country in memory, if you choose to live in a frigid climate (say, Green Bay or The One True Rochester), you’ve chosen to give up your right to whine about the cold/snow/sleet/death wind.

I’m not changing my mind on that, but I am doing my part to Think Warm by featuring a grab bag of IDs from Texas, including new Toppy markets Bryan-College Station, Texarkana and Victoria, as well as new goodies from Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Tyler and Waco.

As always, thanks to Friends o’ Toppy Justin Truehitt and Chris Rollins…and come back next week for Texas, Part Deux: A Heapin’ Helpin’ o’ Houston.

Where The Elite Meet To Geek

When most people think of Palm Springs, images of the Rat Pack and other old-school actors sipping martinis around a pool overlooking the desert usually spring to mind.

When I think of Palm Springs…well, images of the Rat Pack and other old-school actors sipping martinis around a pool overlooking the desert usually spring to mind. Well, that and Robert Downey, Jr. going for a Thanksgiving blow binge.

But, let’s think more positively, shall we? Garrett Wollman hit the Coachella Valley earlier this year and snagged us most of the IDs from the area (including a swell simulcast ID that includes Louisiana and Nebraska!). Dig on them, probably while you’re thinking of the Rat Pack and other old-school actors sipping martinis around a pool overlooking the desert.
