The wrath of Hurricane Sandy has left New York and as the cleanup continues CBS has brought two new sets of call letters to the FM dial.
CHR “92.3 Now” has traded in its WXRK call letters for the more fitting WNOW-FM, which had been in use down in Charlotte, NC. Meanwhile sister 660 WFAN added an FM simulcast via the acquisition of the former 101.9 WRXP.
Meanwhile, during the storm a few stations went to storm related programming. The aforementioned 92.3 WXRK carried the News programming of 1010 WINS while that station was off the air while Disney used its corporate resources to have 98.7 WEPN-FM simulcast WABC-TV.
