As promised, this week we finish up with the Seattle Market. We also have a few stations which can be heard in Seattle from the Bellingham and Olympia Markets.
From Seattle, we have some refreshers and two new HD stations – KBKS-HD2 106.1 and KNDD-HD2 107.7. We also include a call change – KSGX 104.9 “The Brew.”.
From Olympia, we have a two stations new to Toppy – KITI-FM 95.1 and KOOL 104.1. The latter is a case of the translator being pushed which is re-broadcasting an AM station. I understand that the station changed its format from Oldies to NewsTalk in early January. This seems to be a trend all over the country.
Next week we will go across state and visit Spokane. The station line-up in Spokane is pretty stable with just a handful of changes and additions.
Till Next Time, Good Listening
Bill
Bill, that clip of KBKS-HD2 is almost identical to the station’s main ID back in 2009. Unfortunately, they changed it to Russian programming a few weeks after that and it’s now carrying Club Fusion. I would record a new ID, but I think my HD tuner is broken. I also managed to record a new ID from them in August with the Seattle Sun Tan sponsorship on it. I meant to record a new one when that was dropped, but got caught up in other things and now they’ve got a Snoqualmy Casino sponsorship on there. In other Seattle news, all there really is aside from a couple of Bellingham stations you missed and the ellusive KQMV which consistantly gives the legal at 49, there’s not a hole lot. I did manage to get a number of refreshes after the massive Cc shakeup in Spokane a year ago. Any idea when reader contributions are opening up again so I can send those in?
