Nice to see Brian drop by with that mega-KDFC ID earlier today…which perfectly sets the stage for still more from that shuffle (and a few others) tonight:
From San Francisco, we have the “before” installment from each of the players: the commercial version of KDFC-FM on 102.1, plus its HD2. And we’ve got a couple of IDs from KUSF, the college/community station on 90.3 that abruptly left the air yesterday so the University of San Francisco could sell it off to become the new KDFC (assuming you don’t live south of SFO airport, in which case, no new KDFC for you!)
Not complete enough? Lucky you: I also just happened to catch an ID from KNDL 89.9 up in Angwin, which has now flipped to become the North Bay home of KDFC.
There’s much more San Francisco where these came from (a January 2010 trip, to be precise), and we’ll have more for you in the weeks to come.
But wait, there’s more right now! From Long Island, it’s the first ID from the new “My Country 96.1,” WJVC, plus (thanks, Steve West!) an ID from its established country rival, Clear Channel’s WALK 97.5-HD2. (We never did get an ID from 96.1 in its WKJI incarnation – unless Jeff is sitting on one that hasn’t been posted yet…)
And the flips just keep on coming! (Imagine that last line read by Bill Drake with lots of reverb to get the full effect.) Thanks to Lance Venta, it’s the brand-new WBZZ ID on 100.7 in Pittsburgh.
Next week, it’s back to the archives as we launch into a thrilling new Toppy/Tower Site of the Week series. Ready for some Wisconsin?
I do have a WKJI ID, I’ll try to post it this weekend.
