For many years now I’ve talked at length to those who would listen about how much I love the city of New Orleans. To point, when I was negotiating my contract with the TV station that I went to work for in West Virginia in 1999, I managed to get an early exit clause inserted allowing me to leave if I landed a job in a top twenty TV market, Nashville (my hometown), or New Orleans.
I ended up being offered a producing job at a TV station in a top twenty market (Tampa) in March 2001, but not three months after I left for Florida I finally got an offer from a TV station in New Orleans that I had been talking with before Tampa came calling. So I missed out on living in the Big Easy, though Tampa was a pretty nice consolation prize as it turned out.
My site contribution for this week comes again from New Orleans, this time featuring some of the AM stations in the market that haven’t appeared on this website until now. It includes a rare simulcast of a AM daytime-only station that covers New Orleans (1540 KGLA) and an FM station that hits the adjacent Baton Rouge market (105.5 KDDK).
