OK, I’m lying. It was Amtrak’s Empire Service…but I’ve been in something of a New York State of Mind for the last few weeks, which included a huge sweep of Hudson Valley tower sites (and IDs) in the company of Mike Fitzpatrick, proprietor of the excellent NECRAT.us tower-photo site.
Along the way, I shot some nice pictures myself, including one of Mount Beacon that will be the cover of Tower Site Calendar 2010 (now available at a nifty pre-publication discount!).
And while I still fight valiantly to catch up with a year-long backlog of IDs that need pulling and labeling (down to 56 tapes still waiting to be edited, though!), this week’s Toppy update brings some new-ish sounds to the Hudson Valley (we call it Poughkeepsie) and Catskills (we call it Middletown) markets, with a promise of much more to come.
