About to head out on one of the last road trips of the year (which will yield a bunch of WQXR/WCAA material for next week) – but first, a bunch of IDs from Rutland, Vermont from last summer. Enjoy!

Too obscure on the headline reference this week? Anyone?
The only connection I make is LWT, which now exists only in theory. (I want to live in theory. Everything works there.)
You’re on the right track.
“Rutland Weekend Television” was a British comedy show in the seventies, Eric Idle’s follow-up project after Python, and its name was indeed a parody of LWT. Among its contributors was Neil Innes, who used the show to launch the Beatles parody group the Rutles, who are today somewhat better known than the show that gave them their start.
