I happened to be in Chicago for a couple of days earlier this week, finding myself there to attend, of all things, a Tuesday afternoon wedding involving a good friend of mine who I worked with in my TV news days in Tampa who now lives in Seattle.
With less than 48 hours total spent in the Windy City, I found myself with a challenge, trying to record as much radio as I could, especially many of the plentiful HD2/HD3 stations in the city.
I did my best, and part one from the trip is now up on the Chicago page. Take a listen to the newly flipped Spanish WNUA, the pair of AM stations that I landed that also have HD side-channel simulcasts on the FM dial, and the legal ID from the outstanding HD2 dance music station “B-96 Dance” on WBBM-FM-HD2.
Next week: a listen to a couple of stations that have made the move from a primary FM signal to an HD2 side-channel.
