After 14 exciting weeks of IDs from Big Trip 2007, you’ve probably had all the meatloaf – er, Salt Lake City – you can eat. So what are we doing giving you more IDs from there, and from nearby Logan, Utah, too?
Why, ketchup, of course!
Er, make that “catch-up” – in a desperate attempt to avoid falling an entire year behind in pulling off IDs, we’re finally sitting down and making sure we’ve got everything…and lo and behold, there were a few more IDs from the tail end of the big trip that we missed the first time through. Thrill, if you will, to the sound of FOUR all-sports stations in one market, not to mention a now-vintage ID from Salt Lake’s KCPW, before it was sold.
But never fear – just as leftover meatloaf is always better with some fresh cheese on top, we’ve got a brand-new ID for you this week, as Garrett Wollman supplies us with one of the first “WKOX, Newton” IDs as that Boston-market Spanish station moves its transmitter out of his bathroom. (Well, his backyard, anyway…)
What’s next on the Digging Through My Tapes agenda? If Stephen Colbert can spend a day stuck in the Atlanta airport, so can we, and we have IDs from several passes through the Aviation Armpit of the Great Southeast coming up next week, followed by Roanoke, the Triad, Charlotte, a bunch of upstate New York, two trips to Chicago via northern Indiana, lots of southern California, and the list goes on. Stay tuned!
