…lest all the moving call letters in today’s update lead to a horrible trip.
Salem’s been playing musical call letters in Boston and New York, moving the historic WWDJ calls to 1150/Boston to warehouse them as they change New York’s 970 to a talk format as WNYM. (Strangely, we never got a 970 WWDJ clip.) In the interim, Boston’s former calls made a short voyage to The Big Apple for a quick run as 970 WTTT. Thanks to Garrett Wollman for the Boston clip and to Your Own Personal Famous Amos! (who once produced an aircheck of mine that almost made me sound talented) for NYC.
Bonneville’s a big fan of the FM News/Talkers, and ever since they acquired Seattle’s KIRO and KBSG from Entercom, it’s been a fun party game to predict when KBSG would become N/T as KIRO-FM. Well, the answer is “soon,” but ahead of the switch, the calls were changed (and sadly, a bunch of good people lost gigs) and they’re featured here with the old Oldies format, courtesy of Mike Workman.
