In this week’s exciting installment of Big Trip ’07, we do just what the title says – head north and south of Salt Lake City to check out the radio dials in the two big satellite markets of Ogden (that would be north) and Provo (that would be south). Because most of the Ogden and Provo FMs long ago moved up to the mountains with the Salt Lake FMs, and because this is class C territory, where the FMs go 80 miles before stopping to catch their breath, Ogden and Provo are part of the sprawling Salt Lake radio market. But each city still has a few of its own local AMs and even some little FMs that don’t make it into Salt Lake proper, and those are the focus this week, both here and over at Tower Site of the Week.
What’s left for next week? There’s nothing much to the west of Salt Lake but salt flats and Wendover, so we’ll take you east, up to Park City in the mountains, then across the border to Evanston, Wyoming, by way of Humpy Peak.
