So I’m back east from the big NAB Show-related trip west, which will eventually yield a whole bunch of new Bakersfield, LA, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Diego/Tijuana, Palm Springs, Victorville/Barstow and Vegas IDs for the site, once I get to digging through the 14 tapes’ worth of new audio I gathered along the way. (Expect Garrett to get to them first, since he was digital all the way and had a much easier time editing down his audio.)
But before I can get to those, there’s another 32 tapes of IDs from earlier trips, most notably last fall’s Big Trip through Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon, but also some smatterings of Ohio/Indiana/Illinois/Wisconsin, a few runs down to New York City, a day in Kingston, Ontario and, oh yeah, that week in Virginia and North Carolina surrounding the NAB Radio Show last September, too.
Even I can only procrastinate so long: The first of the Big Trip 2007 IDs will start hitting here May 7, tied in with the first segment of Big Trip Tower Site of the Week segments May 2. Like Salt Lake City? You’re in luck – they have a lot of stations, and we got pretty much all of them while we were out there…
First, though, a bit of closet-cleaning with some material from our home region, the Great Northeast: this week, the first Ithaca NY IDs to make it to Toppy (with more to come), plus a cool triple ID from a brief simulcast in the Monmouth-Ocean NJ market two summers ago, and a Long Island ID that got lost somewhere along the way.
