There’s been some format changes happening and getting planned recently here in New England. Providence’s original sports station signed off this week, with the FM becoming a simulcast of 630 WPRO. The AM will eventually run the true oldies channel. Possibly as a result of WPRO being on 99.7, 102.3 WXLM and 104.7 WMOS in the New London, CT market will soon be swapping formats.
This week you’ll hear quite a few IDs from the stations in Providence making the changes. One of them is actually from when The Score began simulcasting on 99.7 back in 2002. In New London, we present the stations changing, along with a couple other stations in the market. Once again this week, a couple of the IDs are courtesy of Rick “RJ” Cabral.
Also, since I have so much audio ready to go, here’s some from Salisbury-Ocean City and new market Cambridge-Easton, MD, thanks to fellow DXer Michael Temme-Soifer.
