Staying off Lehmann’s turf

March 5, 2008 By Lance Venta 4 Comments

(But, seriously, welcome aboard, Jeff!)

It’s my birthday (tomorrow, anyway), and YOU get the present – a gift-wrapped box set of pretty much all the IDs there are to hear in Rockford, Illinois, a market we zipped through way back on Big Trip 2001, and then never managed to return to until the tail end of an August 2007 midwest swing. Someday I’ll get back there and not have my tape run out before getting both halves of the WNIJ/WNIU call swap – and maybe I’ll even manage to tape WKTA somewhere other than under the RF near field of WROK. And then there are those pesky LPFMs, too.

Anyway, that’s this week’s offering, and don’t forget the pictures from Rockford over at Tower Site of the Week.

(Oh, and if you’re looking for the perfect gift, I’ll take three or four of these for the next trip!)

Thanks Scott! I’m sure we’ll end up with more IDs for Boston than most major cities combined. With all of my stuff, yours, and Garrett’s, we’ll probalby have more IDs from Boston than most of the rest of the top 10 markets combined! But hey, the more IDs the better! Hopefully I can drag in a few from rare areas during e skip this year. 🙂

Yeah, but Blaine will still get Fort Wayne over the 500-ID mark first!

Well, there _are_ nearly 500 radio stations around these parts. 🙂 Speaking of which, there are a few ID holes from Fort Wayne that need patched up…

An extra-special bit of newness to come later this evening^Wmorning, although Brian may not want to use it. Who needs LPFMs when you’ve got class-D high-school stations?
