And on Caucus Day, no less!
But yes, it’s true – the campaigning was still at a very low simmer when the Toppy Northeast Midwest Excursionary Force wrapped up its weeklong jaunt ’round Iowa back in May of what’s suddenly “last year.”
So it is that in our last Iowa installment, we offer a bunch of IDs from Dubuque, taped from the fringes of that fine small market, specifically in the parking lot of the Field of Dreams in Dyersville (with, alas, a bit of static at times!)
Then we move on to a bunch of IDs taped in – that’s right – Clinton, Iowa (or just across the river in Fulton, Illinois, where we actually spent the night.)
Clinton’s not really a market of its own, so you’ll find those IDs parked in our Quad Cities section for your listening enjoyment – and of course you can see the Clinton towers over at Tower Site of the Week, too.
Next week, Chicago!
(PS – The Amerks, in case anyone was wondering, snapped that losing streak with a win two nights after last week’s post, then promptly lost two more games, including the one I went to on Sunday. They’re now at the bottom of their division heading into a road trip with three games against the top two teams in the league…)
