In last week’s update, I bemoaned the lack of IDs from the western half of the US, and voiceover guy Chris Rollins (go hire him already, huh?) sprang into action — he’s got a fun little ID recording toy, and grabbed us some Montana goodness while on a family vacation. (Yet another radio geek, taping on holiday!) Today, it’s our first foray into the Big Sky state with a one-off from Bozeman, a few from Kalispell (including a Chris-voiced ID from KRVO) and an ID from another Chris client, KTCZ-FM in Minneapolis. Thanks to Chris for sending these clips, and stay tuned for more Montana in the coming months as a Toppy editor or two storms the Land Of No Speed Limit.
On an only-slightly-related subject, I’ve been streaming quite a lot of Minneapolis radio over the past couple days, as I (and the rest of the world) look for more information on the 35W bridge collapse — a bridge that was less than a mile from my apartment when I was a student in Minneapolis. Lots of great coverage from local radio on this one — and not just news/talk but some good stuff from music stations, too. If you’re a Twin Cities radio pro these days, take a bow.
