We’ll start this week by seconding Brian’s thanks to Jeff Lehmann for all the IDs he’s sent Toppyward in the last few years, including a big pile from one of our favorite smaller markets, Portland ME.
But we’re in Big Trip mode this week, so the Portland of choice this week is the other one, Portland OR, and since it’s a big market with lots of IDs to capture and lots of nifty sites to profile over at Tower Site of the Week, we’ll call this Part One of an ongoing series both here and at fybush.com.
New for your Toppy listening pleasure are some two dozen Portland AM IDs, including the multiple personalities of KBPS 1450, which is programmed by high school students during the day and leased out to Portland State University’s “KPSU” at night, plus the already-defunct KKSN 910/KSLM 1390 simulcast (KKSN is now talk KTRO, simulcasting with KTRO-FM 93.1, and KSLM now simulcasts sports KFXX 1080), and an already-outdated KSZN 1010 with ESPN Deportes. And over at Site of the Week, it’s the FM and TV towers on Portland’s west side.
Coming Friday on Site of the Week, it’ll be downtown Portland’s studios and a bunch of AMs, including the mighty KEX. And next Wednesday on Toppy, a whole slew of PDX FMs.
(Oh, and one more note: echoing Brian’s earlier call for West Coast Toppyheads, we’re very urgently looking for someone who can aircheck a few Yakima FM stations. If that’s you, do drop us a line…thanks!)
