This entry begins with a one-off from Seattle, with the very last legal ID for Mix 92.5 prior to it stunting toward a new format. In fact, the ID went into the final song under the old format, my personal favorite song to end a format with (“Closing Time” by Semisonic.)
From there, I have two from Dallas: 93.3 The Bone (rest in peace, Susquehanna Radio), which just moved under the Cumulus umbrella (this is pre-Cumulus and is a must-listen for any Dallas Cowboys fan), and Lonestar 1190, Clear Channel’s relatively-new 50kw day/night classic country station in the market (we had the ID on here before from the station’s Fox Sports days.)
Finally, enjoy two from my backyard in Birmingham. First is 105.5 WENN; when last we heard from that station on here, it was on a different frequency (105.9) and had an R&B format as V105.9. Now it’s one of the seemingly thousands of gospel stations here. Second is 103.9 WQEN, which has a different city of license from when it was last on here. WQEN no longer has a simulcast on 101.5 (WQEM), as Clear Channel (WQEN’s owner) traded it to Glen Iris Baptist in January 2003 in exchange for tower space for another station in its cluster.
