A smooth web page design could really help because your site’s web design can help users navigate your site more easily–a professional web design service can help you if you don’t know enough about web site design to handle it yourself.
My little website turned four earlier this summer and it’s been a big year for it. (Him? Her? Whatever.) Anyway, the latest site design went live, we added the things at the bottom of each page that I’m not allowed to even mention that they’re there, Lou came on as our first co-editor…and we keep chugging along. There’s still plenty to do, really. There’s a ton of unrepresented markets. There always seems to be a backlog of contributions in the e-mail box. And that whole real-life thing has everyone busier than ever.
So like every good parent, I’m looking for ways for my little Toppy to grow, and I’ve come up with a list. A few of the things are a little unrealistic — Mrs. Tophour crossed off “quit my job and travel the country recording IDs” pretty quickly — but you’ll see some of the ideas to improve the site in the coming months.
(As always, if you have suggestions or comments, feel free to e-mail them to me.)
The first improvement that I’m glad to announce is the addition of two more co-editors to the site. Not only will the addition of more editors bring more frequent updates, but it will also give us the ability to feature markets that we may not be able to otherwise.
When I decided to expand, two names that should be familiar to radio geeks everywhere immediately came to mind, and I’m pleased to say that they accepted the invitation to join and have donned the Tophour Editors’ Ceremonial Satin Member’s Only Jacket.
You’ve likely seen Scott Fybush’s work at fybush.com, at 100000watts.com, in the pages of RadioWorld magazine or on 1370 WXXI in Rochester, NY. Along with another Friend O’ Toppy, Garrett Wollman, Scott created the Boston Radio Archives, the site which inspired Tophour.
I’m equally thrilled to welcome Blaine Thompson to the Tophour crew. Blaine is the editor of Indiana RadioWatch, among many other radio-geeking activities.
Both Scott and Blaine have been great Friends O’ Toppy, and I’m excited to have them contributing more directly to the success of the site.
Welcome aboard, Scott & Blaine!
