It’s now easier than ever to go to school online from the comfort of your home.
A very cool Featured Sound this time around: it’s a montage of IDs from the ’70s and ’80s from a bunch of different midwest stations, including: KSLQ/St. Louis (7/72), WCFL/Chicago (1/75), WDHF/Chicago (12/76), WMET/Chicago (7/77), WEMP/Milwaukee (5/70), WNUW/Milwaukee (12/75), WOKY/Milwaukee (6/70), WRKR/Racine-Milwaukee (1/77, 5/75, 9/83, 10/86), WZUU/Milwaukee (7/74), WROK/Rockford (12/04), WZOK/Rockford (6/86), WWJY/South Bend (12/76), WHFD/Archbold OH (12/76) and WQTC/Two Rivers WI (7/75).

Thanks to Rick Johnson for this very cool contribution!
Very cool stuff! Loved the “All music… all the time”!
Whoa, when I heard the WWJY ID I was suddenly a kid again, sitting in my opthalmologist’s formal waiting room.
Unfortunatly I cannot listen to the sounds because I CANNOT USE FLASH ON MY OPERATING SYSTEM. Thank you very much for discriminating against me.
I won’t say I speak for any of the other editors when I say this, but here goes: *yawn*.
John, if your comment had been less pissy, I might not feel compelled to point out that 96% of computer users can use Flash, and therefore, I’m not “discriminating” against the vast majority of the Tophour user base. I’d likely not wonder aloud if you’d have been equally obnoxious if we’d had this discussion in person and what about the Internet makes people think that it’s acceptable to be an ass. I probably would have apologized for your inconvenience and noted that while there is absolutely no intention to stop using Flash, maybe we could have worked out a way to get you the MP3 file.
Alas, you didn’t take that tack. And much like your choice to use an OS that is incompatible with Flash, it’s a choice I respect your right to make, if not one I would make myself. Instead, the choice I’ve made is to invite you to listen to any of the other 99.8% of the files on the site that aren’t Flash based (that’s 6 files of 4,459, in case you’re curious), and failing that, to just go away.
Ah, choices. Them’s some crazy shit, isn’t it?
That was well-beyond cool. If you ever are prompted to share the mp3, please count me in.
I thought of a song by Fishbone from the late-eighties called “modern industry” in which they read off all the call letters of college radio stations across the country.
Again, much obliged. Best thing I’ve heard this month.
