We have three new entries from two markets, Nashville and Tampa.
The Nashville ID is 106.7 WNPL, just a few days after it flipped from hip hop as Blazin’ 106.7 to sports as 106.7 The Fan. Thanks to the people on the radio-info.com Nashville board who pointed out to me that the station legal ID is in the last break before the top of the hour, not in the usual 10 second music bed at the very top that Sporting News Radio provides for its affiliates.
On the Tampa side there’s a rare dual ID from co-owned WWBA and WLVU from July 2004. At that time the stations were simulcasting parts of the Michael Savage show, since neither station has a very strong evening signal. However, since it was July, WWBA hadn’t had to decrease its power yet and I was able to capture this legal ID from my Tampa apartment.
WLVU soon thereafter flipped to sports. Why? Because that same month, WBZZ 1010 The Buzz (formerly WQYK) flipped from sports to hot talk, dropping its ESPN affiliation. The second ID from Tampa is a quick legal ID of WBZZ from August 2004 buried in a stopset.
